Gastromadeira Reaches the Top: National Champion of the 2nd Pool Division 2023/2024

The Gastromadeira team emerged victorious in the 2nd Division National Pool Championship, held in the charming village of Soure, at the prestigious Hotel Termas do Bicanho, on the 24th, 25th and 26th of April 2024. This competition was organized by the Portuguese Billiards Federation, and brought together some of the most talented teams in national billiards for an exciting and highly competitive championship.

Gastromadeira is a team from the island of Madeira, made up of notable players such as Amâncio Ferreira, Guilherme Sousa, Jonas Sousa, Nélio Nóbrega, Nuno Barros, Nuno Teixeira and Paulo José Freitas.

This team's prowess at the pool tables, combined with an unwavering team spirit and fierce determination, were the keys to this achievement.

In the final stages of the championship, Gastromadeira faced teams with top players but emerged as an indomitable force, securing impressive victories that solidified their position as the winning team of the competition.

In the final phase of the competition, these were the partial results of the games:

• Gastromadeira 3 - 1 CB Pedro Grilo
• Gastromadeira 3 - 2 CB Cinnamons
• Gastromadeira 3 - 1 Dynamic AC

These victories, in addition to guaranteeing the national title for Gastromadeira, also reaffirmed that Madeira Island plays Pool of the highest quality and that Madeira Island is at the top of excellence in the billiards scene in Portugal.

The incredible organization of the Portuguese Billiards Federation and the warm hospitality of the Hotel Termas do Bicanho in the village of Soure, contributed to the success of this memorable event.
